About the Foundation

The Penguin Random House Foundation is our Company’s philanthropic home for three singular charitable programs operated internally, with essential support from our team of talented editors, designers, published authors and employee volunteers.  The Penguin Random House Creative Writing Awards, Teacher Awards for Literacy and Library Awards for Innovation are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of writers and readers. These awards are designed to inspire teachers, librarians and young authors to create innovative community programs and write diverse works that connect and transform in ways large and small. Penguin Random House is committed to going beyond the books to make an even more meaningful difference in our society. The Foundation supports this goal through scholarships, cash grants, and thousands of classroom book donations every year. Click on each program to see how you can apply.

The Penguin Random House Foundation programs complement and amplify our existing Penguin Random House corporate giving and social responsibility initiatives and partnerships worldwide that promote literacy and a reading culture.
